In the LCA & Footprint Analysis course you learn how to systematically map environmental impact using internationally recognised methods such as Life Cycle Assessment and CO₂ footprint analysis. You develop the ability to translate data into insight and use it for decision-making, strategy and sustainable steering within organisations and value chains.

You follow a coherent learning path in which you learn to think in life cycles, define system boundaries and work with internationally recognised methods for impact measurement. The course takes you from data collection and calculations to analysis and interpretation: from insight into hotspots to well-founded choices for reduction and optimisation. You work on your own practical case.

  1. Day 1 Introduction to footprint & LCA thinking: impact and methods.
  2. Day 2 CO₂ footprint & GHG Protocol: Scope 1, 2 and 3, data collection and calculations.
  3. Day 3: 29 May 2026 Life Cycle Assessment (method): goal and scope, system boundaries and Life Cycle Inventory (LCI).
  4. Day 4: 12 June 2026 LCA calculations & interpretation: impact categories, environmental cost indicator, scenarios and uncertainties.
  5. Day 5 From analysis to steering: reduction strategies, reporting and decision-making.
  6. Day 6 Practical exam.

Costs

The course costs € 5,250 excl. VAT. This includes training materials, certification costs, use of the venue, coffee/tea and an extensive lunch arrangement.

Duration

The total duration of this course is 3 months with 6 course days. Preparation and assignments require an average of 3 hours per week.
